Manure Drag Hose

A neighbor is spreading manure on fields from his farm's liquid manure pit.  He uses a drag hose system to get to the fields nearest me.  Sometimes he can run the hose across a field that he owns but when necessary he has gotten an OK from the town to run the hose temporarily down road ditches and through culverts.  They were happy to give an OK because it keeps heavy equipment off the town roads.   I followed the line (as much as I could) about a mile back to his manure pit.  The only pumping station I found was at that main pit.  Must be a lot of pressure in that hose to move the liquid that far.  When the line gets to a field where he wants to apply the manure, the hose is hooked up to a tractor which drags the hose back and forth across the field injecting the manure directly into the ground.  Doesn't cut the smell at all but it is interesting to watch.
