Sunrise over trees

An old friend recently let me know that she had retired and was now living 'the life of Riley'.  I knew exactly what she meant since I listen to Old Time Radio on the weekends.  I think the term preceded the radio show but even so, 'The Life of Riley' went off the air in 1951 which was before either of us was born.  Of course, there was a TV show of the same name that ran until 1958 but around that time I was more interested in Howdy Doody and Sheriff Bob than sitcoms.  Guess I should be happy there are still some phrases thrown around that I recognize.  I have no idea what 'LMK', 'that fit is snatched', and 'what cap' mean.

Being your "older" brother I do remember watching The Life of Riley. Not sure why I remember the lead in the show but I do - William Bendix.
