Sunday morning of Memorial Day weekend the subcontractor was out cutting joints in the cement. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised. Cutting joints in newly laid cement slab is necessary to control cracking. It can't be done while the cement is still 'molten' and if done too late can cause cracking in itself. The garage isn't that large so there was only a vertical and a horizontal cut to make. "I need to meet my wife at church in an hour." he said. Figured he probably made it.
