Red-winged Blackbird

Friend Kathy and her husband are in Tokyo on a trip to visit friends there.  She sent an e-mail today to say they had arrived safely and except for some jet lag are having a good time.  Before leaving she had been a little worried about what she would find to eat there.  I told her 'when in doubt - go vegetarian'.   It's an adage that I adopted years ago when a group of us from Honeywell went out to eat at a new hole-in-the-wall restaurant.  I had a very bad cold and the owner said she had just the thing for me.  She brought out a bowl of soup w/ noodles which was great until my spoon brought up a hunk of what looked like a tongue.  The expression on my face made for a good story when we arrived back at work.
