At Winter Gardens
Friend Nancy stopped by early this morning and we took off for Winter Gardens. The drive there takes close to an hour. There are other nurseries closer but it's kind of an 'event' to go each year. This afternoon I figured the sooner I got the plants I bought potted the better. First I need four containers for Memorial Day. That done I got out a tiered four compartment container for herbs. Put chives on the top and below I planted thyme, basil, and oregano. For the front door I wanted to plant in a small silver bucket but didn't want to poke holes in it's bottom. Looked for a pot that would fit unnoticed inside the silver bucket. Played out the Three Bears (you know, this pot is too small, this one too big, etc.) but found the perfect size and planted it w/ lavenders, lemon balm, and a daisy-looking type flower. Night time temps are above freezing but not by much. Decided to bring inside the four containers for Memorial Day and let the other plants stay outside to 'toughen up'. Rather enjoyed getting dirty. If the weather permits, tomorrow I'll tackle replanting all of those plants I overwintered in the spare bedroom.
