Tree swallows are back. They seemed a little perturbed that none of the bird houses were ready. I closed up all of the wooden ones. Had left their doors open so the wind and snow this winter would scour them clean. The ones made from PVC I'd taken down last fall, cleaned and stored next to the house. Put a pair of houses up, stood back to admire my work, and in flew a pair of swallows to check them out. I could see that there were other swallows already fighting over another pair of houses in the meadow. Have all but four of the houses in place now. Should have them all done by Easter and ready for eggs.
