Saw my brother Russell in church this morning. He was in short shirtsleeves. Why hadn't I gotten my short-sleeve clothes out? Once home I changed into a t-shirt and Indy and I went out for a walk. Sure there are still areas w/ snow but the temps were in the high 50's. Walked past Gorgeous Gorge and listened to chunks of ice at the edges calving off w/ little 'plinks' followed by ripples and bubbles. Up and into the woods to look around. Nothing green except lichen and moss. Picked our way along a deer path to some big red maples. They haven't yet started to bloom. Once home I felt something on my ear. A stinking tick! Found a new bottle to store ticks. Gave Indy her tick pill. Stripped off my clothes and did a tick check. While I'm looking forward to Spring, there were some good things about Winter.
