If you are a local, you pronounce this as "Chip-wa." No one will say anything if you enunciate all 3 syllables but we'll take note.
Even a native Northwoods person will agree that it's cold. The house is built to take advantage of passive solar heating. I can close off the entire north half of the house. Most of the windows are on the south sides. The sun's arc is lower in the sky this time of year so it shines deep into the house. Gives me a big temp boost. Today I even started a fire in the fireplace and periodically tossed in the white birch logs and hardwood scraps Phil and Brent left for me. I'm staying warm and certainly not complaining about a few super cold days. They are what keep the warmer clime nasty invaders at bay.

Even we had wind chills in the double digits. (-41F) No mail service or trash pick up. We all enjoyed a snow day inside by the fire as well.
