Christmas Cards

Served a five course meal for Christmas Eve supper w/ Donna and Russell.  Cheese tartlets and a fruit kabob were the appetizers.  Next was a leek and lentil soup w/ a side of pita chips.  The salad course was a tossed green salad w/ tomatoes, dried cranberries, and candied pecans. Included poppy seed-lemon bread and cranberry-orange bread.  Entree included mashed potatoes, crockpot steak w/ fresh sliced ringlets of green and red peppers (just for a little color).  Desert consisted of vanilla icecream w/ chocolate sauce and a shortbread cookie.  It all went off pretty well.  I might be getting the hang of serving a meal in courses.  Helps that Russell and Donna are very forgiving of my culinary skills.  While we dined we saw eight deer came out of the woods and dance across the field.  Hmmm ... eight tiny deer.
