Took a long walk through the swamps this morning. Rain is forecast for the next few days plus, per my agreement w/ neighbor Blake, I don't walk on his part of the swamp during the month of November. Blake had asked if I would let him know if I found buckthorn on his land. Buckthorn is a nasty invasive tree and this is the time of season to 'hunt' them. Native trees are now bare but buckthorn still sport green leaves. I brought along my pink tape and wrapped a piece around those trees I found. Makes them easy to spot and get rid of later. Also looked for a Christmas tree. Much easier to find one now and go right to it in December than to wander around in the cold and snow later. Along the way saw deer, grouse, and sandhill cranes. Almost home, I stopped at Ragnarok to empty my pockets of interesting stones picked up along the way. Indy and I had a great time.
