Woody Chanterelle

I expect all of the birds have fledged.  The parents will want to give the little ones some time to build up their flying skills and to 'beef up' before their flight south.  The hummers are back at the feeders and I'm daily making more fluid.    Brent and I speculated on what hummingbirds thought the feeders were.  "Red flowers." Brent thought.  "Special red flowers w/ lots of nectar." I added.  "They are probably telling their kids how hard it was to get nectar in the old days."  Brent postulated.  "Yeah, they are telling them how easy kids have it now." I replied.  "Wonder what they do w/ all of their free time?"   Bet they go to movies like 'The Maltese Falcon', One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest', or 'The Sparrow'.  Maybe read books like 'I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings', 'Jonathan Livingston Seagull', or  'To Kill a Mockingbird'.  Watch episodes of 'Thorn Birds' or 'Woody Woodpecker' cartoons on TV.  Listen to music by 'The Byrds', 'The Eagles', or 'Counting Crows'.  Drive around in their Pontiac Firebird or Buick Skylark.  If they aren't strong enough to migrate in September suppose they may hitch a ride on a McDonnell Douglas Harrier.
