Library 'Summer Reading Program' crafts
Started on a new book called "The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning". Ordered it mostly because it had an intriguing title and I'm always looking for ways to control the growth of 'stuff' in my house. I'm only through a third of the book. The author describes herself as "between 80 and 100" but said the ideas applied to people of all ages. The book has organized a lot of logical points into chapters. For instance the chapter 'Where to start': Don't start cleaning out your excess by going through old photos or letters - you'll just get bogged down in memories. Start w/ the things you haven't seen/used in a long time that are in your attic or basement. Was unsure if I agreed w/ the author completely when, by luck, Wilma was manning the library's front desk and she had already read this book. She wasn't in total agreement w/ the author either. Recently she and a friend made wind chimes out of an old leather and bead necklace, bells, and some other bits and pieces from around the house. Things that the book definitely says to get rid of. I'll finish the book "The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning" but I prefer the sentiments in the poem "Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night".

You know with all her age behind her she may just be right assuming the point is to get rid of stuff. We have been getting rid of stuff also. Did what she said and started in closets, attics, etc. Amazing how much you get rid of. Didn't get bogged down into maybe I could use this some time which is the point I guess. If haven't used it in a couple of years it is gone. Will get to the pics later.
