Looking for a landing spot
It's been over a week since the bird houses went up so Indy and I checked them. W/ all of the tree swallows and bluebirds flying around I wondered if I might see nests w/ eggs. While all but four showed activity, none of the boxes had a nest ready for eggs yet. It isn't that it takes the birds a long time to create a nest. When they want to - such as trying to get a second or third brood in for the year - they can have a new nest w/ eggs laid inside a week. Every year they take their time though w/ the first nest. Maybe they are waiting for the level of insect activity to rise? Whatever the reason, looking in on each box give Indy and I a nice walk.
