Box Elder flowers
I was enjoying breakfast when I realized the cats weren't around. Neither tearing around the house nor sleeping atop their favorite chairs. I listened. There was a sporadic 'tap-tap-tap' sound from the other side of the house. As anyone w/ pets (or small children I suspect) knows it's time to check and see what's up. Found both cats perched on the edge of the bathtub. They were watching a sparrow trying to get in. The bird was sitting on the bathroom window ledge tapping the glass w/ it's bill. Blitzen was crouched and silently chattering as cats do when excited. A more casual Dunder was reaching out a tentative paw to test the invisible barrier between he and the bird. The bathroom windows are tinted so during the day no one can see in but it's easy to see out. Assume the little bird thought he'd found a potential nesting area but couldn't detect the cats. He was a determined little fellow and would fly away only to come back and start tapping again. What a surprise to all of them if I'd opened the window.
