Sphagnum Moss Swamp

I made a list of what needed to be done today and was partially through it when I got a call from the librarian.  The afternoon volunteer wouldn't be coming in today - could I come in and work the afternoon plus my usual night shift?  Guess so.    When I got to the library the morning volunteer warned me I'd be getting calls from patrons wanting to renew their books.  Seems not many people wanted to brave the weather just to turn in their books.  I talked w/ a worker from the ski hill that came in to use the computers.   I asked why the lights hadn't been on at the ski hill for the past three days.  "Too cold." was her reply.   They had to shut down since some parents just drop off their kids in the morning and don't come back for them until closing.  While the chalet is reasonably warm, at the top of the ski runs the wind chill is brutal.  The book club members came in for a meeting.  It was a smaller group today so they had their meeting in the reading area by the front desk.  They did go through some of the usual type questions - What was the symbolism of such and such?  How did this character change?  Mostly they talked about the ideas and thoughts the book invoked in them - I liked that part.  By 7 p.m. library closing I was bushed.  Indy and the kittens greeted me warmly when I got home.  I knew there was a reason I have pets.
