Invisible car on a foggy morning

An unexpected thunderstorm this morning put the kibosh on my outside plans for awhile so I bopped downtown to check my mailbox.  Stopped by the library to pick up something and there was the librarian at the front desk.  Seems Kelli the new person who had volunteered for so many spots in the schedule wasn't as reliable as hoped.  I took over at the front desk for awhile so the librarian could get some of her work done.  When I wasn't busy doing regular volunteer duties, I got into working on an Excel spreadsheet to automate the library's door counter statistics. A woman walked in and asked to see Diane, our new librarian.  The woman was here as a consultant from one of the other libraries.  I told her that Diane had stepped away from her office for a moment.   If I could see her Librarian's Badge I'd let her wait in Diane's office.  That got me a puzzled look.  "We don't have Librarian's Badges." she declaimed.  "I need to see some identification before you can wait in the office."  I said.  She held up a bag of homegrown produce and a container of pastry.   "I have tomatoes and donuts."  "Close enough." I agreed and took her to the office area.  There is just a chance I might be getting a bit crazier in my dotage.
