My weekend guests had left and I went out to sit on the deck. It was a beautiful day - in the 70's, light wind, sun w/ a few puffy clouds. Phil & Sheila had been sitting on the deck earlier and said it was nice because you could see out so far. Decided I should set aside what I was doing and take in the vista. I watched two tree swallows come swooping in and touch wingtips which seemed strange. I've found tree swallows to be excellent at determining proximity to other things in flight. The thought occurred to me that these birds might be fledglings from the bird house outside my bedroom. I can't swear what was going on but there was a lot of activity at that nest box today. Entertaining to watch.
