Female Harrier
Checked the bluebird houses when I got home. Most were either empty or just had the beginnings of a nest. However the two houses in the meadow were different. "A" had four blue bird eggs. "B" had a dead female tree swallow. I've found a dead female before - in a different pair of houses. I blame the English sparrows but can't prove it. Meanwhile Indy is shedding - a lot. I take her out on the deck three times a day for a brush and can still pull tufts of hair out w/ my fingers. Blue birds and tree swallows make nests from dried grass and feathers but I'm betting that there will be many other bird nests this spring that are going to be lined w/ black dog hair.
