Culver's Root

I feel this year we've truly been "summered": glorious weather w/ enough hot days to make a person begin to look forward to fall. There have been past years when the seasonal transition seemed to occur between spring and fall w/ a passing nod to summer. Forecast is for warm (80's) and muggy so I wanted a quick morning walk w/ Indy before the day heated up. Decided against taking the camera. Of course you know what happened. The monarch butterflies were all over the milkweed patches. I saw young merganser ducks on the pond. Found the last of the glistening red raspberries (sun-warmed and bursting w/ flavor by the way). Everything's cool. Will take the camera along on tonight's walk.
