I knew that we were in for a cold spell and it probably would drop to freezing on Saturday and Sunday night. Brought in the plants I had potted Thursday night and again last night just because I thought they were a bit too tender yet. I wasn't prepared for walking out on the deck this morning and seeing snow. (A little hard to tell - might have been sleet pellets.) Today is a state-wide bird species count and I had dared hope to get a high number. Between the gusting winds and the cold temps (the water in the bird-bath was even frozen) birds will be spending most of their time hunkered down somewhere.
