Spring in the Northwoods

The local weekly paper does have a few topical cartoons on the editorial page but no "funny papers" as they were called when I was growing up. Instead they print the Sheriff's Dispatch Log in the paper which is made up of 911/Sheriff calls/and walk-in complaints to the police department. It fills the comic-relief-from-the-rest-of-the-news niche nicely.
  • April 29th at 2:07 p.m. a caller reported an argument on Sabin Avenue.   A 19 year old was upset his parents decided to pay bills rather than buy him a PS4 with their tax refund."
  • May 2 10:45 a.m. The manager of a gas station reported a questionable $10 bill.  It was determined to be a legitimate bill printed in 1934.
  • May 5 6:30 p.m. A Fed Ex driver forgot to put his truck in park and it rolled into two vehicles causing minor damage.
