Nothing too new on the walk today. The grasses have turned brown. No new growth. Leaves have all fallen (except for those oaks that will keep them until spring). Insects have gone underground. Only the birds that don't migrate are still here. It's an important time of year - this switch over from autumn's colorful days to it's bland and boring ones. These next weeks will get us all looking for something new and different - like snow! Can't think of any other reason I'm suddenly all a-twitter thinking about that first snowfall that sticks around.
