Training flight

Had my yearly checkup w/ the doc. First time I've met her. She went over my lab results - all good - and said their computer estimates I have a 4.3% chance of a heart attack (or was it a stroke?) within the next 10 years. Didn't sound too high to me but she stated if it gets to 7% they will put me on cholesterol reducing medicine. I didn't give that statement much gravitas. Earlier in the exam she had asked me if I had any issues and I said my hip, shoulder, and toe sometimes ache. She just went on to her next question, Did I ever feel faint? "Occasionally." I replied. Again, no follow up from her. If she didn't care about my answers to her questions, I'm not real concerned about her computer program. I won't ask for a new doc though. All of the doc's at the clinic are fully booked. Plus she's the fourth doctor I've had in the eight years I've been going there (one moved, one retired, one just suddenly no longer employed by the clinic). I'd say my chance of having a different doc by next year's checkup to be much greater than 4.3 %.

I think we are on our own to figure out our medical problems. However, the dr. I saw this summer did some tests and the "program" said I had already had a heart attack and now had atrial fibrillation. He said hogwash and crossed that all out. I laughed and decided I had found someone who could think through a problem without aid of a computer model.
Happy your test results were O.K.
