Red Maple and White Birch

The county sheriff's dispatch log was filled w/ seasonal calls: truant school kids, stolen tree stands/trail cams/random gunshots, livestock on the road. Also the usual call from a lady in Weyerhaeuser reporting that the "kooks" had locked her out of her house this time. I checked out the rest of the court news. A 19 year old girl was fined for cursing at an officer. I was glad to hear that swearing is still considered wrong by someone. Besides being crass and vulgar, swearing is so unimaginative. Probably people resort to the usual cuss words just because, in the heat of the moment, they can't think of anything better to say. I propose that one should find and practice fun curses so if there is a good time to use them they are at the tip of your tongue. For help in thinking up good old-fashioned foul language, check out the Shakespeare Insult Kit on-line (or be a gleeking fen-sucked carbuncle).
