Small Purple Fringed Orchid
I should have known something was wrong this morning when I saw the crowd gate was lowered and up near the milking parlor entrance. Usually the last shift moves the crowd gate to the back of the holding pen and raises it up so it's ready for the first group of cows for the next shift. The herdsman couldn't move it so called the dairy owners. Since I'd already finished w/ setup, while the owners and Mike worked on the gate, I got a pail of soapy water and got a head-start on scrubbing the parlor walls. Eventually they were able to raise the gate but it wouldn't move otherwise. Throughout the morning milking, Domingo or I would have to go into the holding pen to move cows into the parlor. The owner was in and out as he did his usual work plus played around w/ the gate. Near the end of milking he finally found there was a small broken wire keeping the gate immobile. Farmers - they need to be Renaissance men (and women).
