Great Spangled Fritillary on Bird's Foot Trefoil

Rainstorms this morning. Even though it was humid, a relief from the last two days of 80 degree weather. After the storms had abated I watched a raucous baby bird begging from an adult red-winged blackbird. The father would slide down the bird feeder, get a seed, fly back up to the fledgling and feed it. Finally it just gave up trying to satisfy it's fledgling and flew off - followed closely by it's still yelling offspring. These are the halcyon days of summer when life is easy - except for all of the new parents.
