June bouquet - oxeyed daisies, orange hawkweed, and mouse-eared chickweed
When I was very young the sheriff came to the farm to warn us that there was an outbreak of rabies in the area. I haven't had a visit from the sheriff's office again until today. As I walked into the foyer, there was a deputy about to knock on my door. He handed me a paper and said a sex offender was being released into the area. (I have often read that phrase in the news - "being released into the area". It elicits a mental picture of the police opening a live trap and a wild animal bounding out and into the woods.) The sheriff's office was informing everyone within a 3 mile radius. The paper he gave me had more detailed information on my new neighbor. I've now been warned and hopefully there will be no problems. If not, well ... that bear spray I bought yesterday might come in handy.

Just like we release chipmunks that we have caught in the live trap. We drive them out in the country, stop on the road, and let them go.
I think they rate offenders on a scale in this state. zero to five. What rating did your new neighbor get?
