Hazy Sun

It's wildfire season in Canada and a fire in Saskatchewan is affecting us. The heat from that fire propels burnt ashes up into the air where they are caught up in upper level winds. Those winds carried the ash over the Northwoods yesterday. The ash is staying high - maybe 9 to 10,000 feet up so we can't smell it and aren't breathing it in. However, the particles caused a haze everywhere and the sun appeared only as a reddish-orange ball overhead. The haze has another beneficial side to it. It's just enough to keep the temps down a bit from what was forecast. A pretty day all around.

One Sunday when I was still in grade school (60+) years ago in Comins MI it was
dark like it couldn't quite make it to daylight. Later we heard there was a fire in Canada. Back in the dark ages, no TV, so we didn't know for several days.JVM
