Yellow Pond Lilies

I'm staying up later than usual to watch "Shakespeare Uncovered" on PBS. Tonight's episode is on Macbeth. I wanted to see if these experts thought the same thing I did, that Macbeth is an essay on predestination vs. free will - a major religious conundrum. While, they didn't use those exact words they did say that Shakespeare meant to make the audience question if Macbeth was fated to murder Duncan -or- if he had been considering murdering Duncan all along. Surprisingly, the show also pointed out the relationship of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth is one of the few depictions of a strong marriage in Shakespeare's plays. I'm all a-twitter. Can hardly wait until the show is rerun on Saturday!
