Spring in the swamp

The old man walked into the library this morning. I threw up my arms. "Manly!" I yelled. That drew a smile from him. Manly usually comes in on Saturday mornings to pick up another James Patterson book. He often returns last week's book selection to my desk saying he's already read that one. I've offered to help him order other James Patterson books our library doesn't have. However, Manly is in his 90's and waiting a week or two for a book is not his style. So I looked through the stacks earlier this morning checking out other authors he might enjoy and that we have lots on-hand.  Fortunately,  Manly was game to try something new. I sent him home w/ a Clive Cussler, Tom Clancy, and John Sanford novel apiece w/ strict instructions that, if he started reading one of them and didn't like it, to just put it away. I had plenty more authors for him to try if none of those struck his fancy. Just part of the service your friendly local library provides.
