If only there wasn't a glass pane

A picture from my neighbor, Doug Dearhamer.
Thursday we didn't clean the parlor because it was too cold. Friday the same. Monday too. When I walked into the parlor this morning, though, the walls had obviously been scrubbed. I asked Domingo if he had done it. "No", he said, "Eric." Turns out yesterday an advance group from a Midwest Heifer Raising group had come to the dairy to tour the new calf barn. (Though what heifers have to do w/ calves escapes me.) Anyway, they asked if they could also see the parlor and the dairy owner, Eric, and his son, Evan, had scrubbed the walls before the tour arrived. I was chagrined. "We would have cleaned if we had known there was a tour." I told dairy owner Carol. However she insisted that it had been too cold and not to give it another thought. Well, unless the calf barn is selected to be part of the Midwest Heifer Raising tour. Then you can bet the owners will have us in a cleaning frenzy.
