My nephew Zach called. He said Russell had fallen, called him, but Zach hoped I could get to Russell's house quicker than he could. Unfortunately, I was in a car, hours away, just entering the outskirts of the Big City at that time. I gave a call to our neighbors, Doug & Anita. Doug went right to Russell's home to see if he could help. Turns out Russell has a broken hip. Our county hospital doesn't handle surgery like that so the ambulance took him right to the next county's hospital. However, that hospital didn't have any beds available so they shipped him to college town where Russell is now scheduled for surgery at 1p.m. today. While I'm concerned to live in a rural area where hospital care is hard to get, I'm very grateful to live in a place where there are great neighbors.
