Went in to pick up a book yesterday that I had ordered from the library. The librarian said the volunteer for tomorrow wasn't going to make it. Would I work Saturday? Turned out to be an active Saturday morning at the library - fixed a problem a couple had using Google; showed a lady how to print a document (she had tried to do it at a different library but it hadn't worked correctly); helped a little boy, who was waiting for his mother, to find a book and then explain to him that he couldn't actually have the book but he could use his mom's library card to check the book out and then return it to me in two weeks; copy documents for an elderly gentleman who didn't want to be bothered w/ figuring out all of the buttons on the copier; etc. I would have preferred doing the things I had originally planned to do but at least I was able to help some other people have a good morning.
