Tamarack in fall
I wore my t-shirt w/ the dairy's logo on it yesterday. We had visitors. Mike steam cleaned the vet room on Monday. Domingo and I scrubbed the parlor on Tuesday. We were ready. The groups came at 9 a.m. just as Domingo and I started clean up. The dairy owners, escorted the vocational technical students through the utility room, parlor, and barn. While I worked in the milk room, I could hear what Eric and Carol were saying. Eric was explaining that the first thing before building is to locate is your water source. It will dictate elevations, distances, size, etc. Interesting ... makes sense in this kind of business. Carol talked finances reminding them to keep constant track of inflows and outflows and maintain a close relationship w/ your bank. Good idea in any business. I finished up my work and went out to the parking lot. High school students were the second group. Evan, the owner's son, had taken them through the new calf barn first and they were now headed to the parlor. Hope the students found the visit educational ... and maybe noted how clean everything was!
