Sugar Maple

It had been a week since I called an electrician and no word so I called them back today. They sent one out this afternoon. I suspected (hoped) it was something simple and it was. Just an air-lock in the system. He drained the system enough to get the air out and I should be good to go. Good thing. The forecast is for a cold weekend and the house is in the low 60's already. Serendipitously, my plumber called while the electrician was here. He was wondering if I had gotten the system up and going again. I told him the electrician suggested doing a manual or auto fill for the system. A manual fill would just be a lever I opened as part of the fall heating season start-up procedures. My plumber said he would stop by when he had time and he'd work it out. I learned from working at Honeywell the importance of writing down procedures so I wondered where would be the best place to put such information for the next owner of the house (or for me come next October). Putting it on-line or in a book someplace didn't seem like it would work. Decided to write the procedures right on the sheet-rock in the utility room. Perfect.
