Virgin's Bower flowers
Not one of Aunt June's better days. She was asleep in her wheelchair when I arrived and the nurse told me June had had a late night. However, she woke up enough to agree that she wanted to have coffee and donuts w/ me. We went to our favorite patio at the Nursing Home. At first I had to feed her sips of her coffee but I kept up a running commentary of the week's news - the investigators were on-site finally at the jet that was shot down over the Ukraine, Israel and Hamas were still at war, an ebola patient was flown from Liberia to the U.S. for treatment, the California drought, the former Va. gov. McDonnell scandal. June listened raptly, asking for me to continue if I stopped my narrative, and was sipping coffee on her own by the end. I don't consider myself to be all that interesting a speaker. Maybe when you reach the age of 94 you just don't have anyone talking to you like an adult and it feels good - whether or not you fully understand the topic.
