Raspberry blossom
My hairdresser owns two horses - Scooter and Snort. She has always talked to them. While both horses were eating a hay bale she had put out for them, she was getting ready to start grooming. First, she checks for ticks on them. "Got any insects?" she said as she ran a hand over Scooter. Suddenly there was a nose on her shoulder and she turned to see Snort. He gave her another nudge and stretched out his body. She ran a hand over his belly and he moved his left back leg a bit further out. She ran a hand to the inside of his leg and there was a tick. She removed it, rubbed the leg a little, and said "All gone." Snort walked around her, as if checking out his leg, and went back to eating. "All these years I never thought they understood what I was saying." she laughed. I guess the take-away is to be careful what you say to your pets - they might actually be listening.
