Field of Flowers

Checked on the outlying bird houses today - not inside them - just to see that bear hadn't been marauding. That meant a walk through a field. Was surprised at the number of flowers that were in bloom there. Then through the woods - found some new mushrooms.  Then slopping through low lying meadows where Indy scared up a deer.  One of the last birdhouses was tilting. Not a bear just my inept ability to get it straight in the ground this spring. I straightened it and stuck some broken twigs at the base in an effort to keep it straight. All the while the mother bluebird was dive bombing me, causing a whiff of wind as she pulled up just above my head. A walk back through the woods where the mosquitoes were so thick I had to breath through my nose or risk sucking some in. A little beauty, discovering something new, a quest, and some danger - what else could you want in a walk?
