Didn't check the bird houses on Friday nor Saturday so this afternoon Indy and I set out. Because of yesterday's rain, we slopped from house to house. Some houses had a parent bird on the nest. They won't move off even when the top of their home is removed and the face of a giant peers in at them. (That takes guts.) At one house, I was dive-bombed by the parent bird all of the time I was checking. Probably made his day when I left and he figured he'd successfully chased me away. Anyway, except for one tree swallow nest, looks like all of the eggs have hatched. Next big hurdle is keeping the bear away from the nest boxes.
