Indy
Dr. Lang now has an associate vet working w/ him, Dr. Smith. Doc Lang is a large animal vet so he's often away from the office and I was having problems finding a time when he was available to see a dog. However, Dr. Smith now covers the office so getting an appointment was no problem. I took Indy in for her rabies and Lyme's shots today. Dr. Smith came in wearing jeans and a shirt. Perfect - no white coat. He ran his hands over Indy once and said she looked healthy. Perfect - no unnecessary high tech instruments. He thought he detected a heart murmur and asked if she had any problems exercising. I shook my head no. "Probably nothing." he said. Perfect - If he'd suggested more tests I would have said no anyway. He asked if I would hold her collar while he gave the shots (by law, he has to give the rabies vaccination). Perfect - No bunch of assistants hovering around. The bill was way, way less than last year's visit to the other vet in town that specializes in pets (and who kept referring to me as "Indy's mom"). Perfect - I prefer a vet that treats a dog like a dog.
