Bluebirds and Tree Swallow

Indy and I started checking the bluebird houses this week. Today, I put the cylindrical houses back on the poles and poked open the small hole in the bottom of each. The wooden houses just needed their doors refastened into place. Hadn't moved off very far from one pair of boxes when new renters were looking over housing availability in the area. As I've said before, two houses are placed close together. The tree swallows like their space and won't allow many types of birds to nest close to them. They don't seem to mind the bluebirds as neighbors though. Nice to see both species back for the summer.

Glad to see the birds are arriving for spring. Have you thought of anything to keep the bear away from the nests?
