Ori asleep in the sun

Volunteered at the library this morning. I saw most of the books were already gone from the hold shelf. When I checked the on-line requests there were more than I've ever seen before. Winter is a great time to read a book! Picked up the requested books from the stacks and filled up a shipping carton. I decided to put the carton next to the back door where the courier will pick it up on Tuesday. Usually I wouldn't bother since the Monday volunteer does that. However, the library is closed when the public school closes. Pretty sure w/ the temps and wind chills forecast for Monday, neither will be open.

Ori looks so relaxed and contented!

Yes, books are great, especially during Arctic blasts like this. I've been learning to download ebooks and movies from the library. Not a big selection at this point, but more and more becoming available as time marches on .... if enough people use this format. Some folks will forever opt for the hardcopy version.

I'm thoroughly impressed with my Apple iPad. The device is small, light weight, and extremely flexible; enabling me to carry around 1000's of tunes, 100's of photos, 30 movies, and 20 books; with 32GB (of 64GB) storage still unused. Technology!
