Hedge Bindweed

Back to work today. Carol, the dairy owner, said that the new milking inflations had been doing so well that she thought they could take quite a few cows off the "manual list". For some cows that milk out unevenly or take a long time to get started, we hit the manual button on a control panel. Instead of the milker coming off automatically when the machine senses the milk flow has slowed, it will stay on until we shut the manual button off. We keep a list of the cows that usually need this intervention on a white board. I offered to clean up the list today but Carol said she wanted to keep the original list so she could give quantitative information to the company making the inflations. We decided to put dots on the white board next to the cows we "manualed" today. After milking, I gave the list to the herdsman. She noted I'd written down a few more cows on the list. Well .... all of we milkers know there are extra cows that usually need manual but we never got around to putting them on the list. Even so, the list will be shorter soon.
