Mowing Hay

A few consecutive days of no rain in the forecast. The countryside is full of activity as farmers are "making hay while the sun shines." This picture is my neighbor cutting the field next to the house this afternoon. The dairy owner has a bet w/ his son. He is betting the price of corn will fall to $4.something/bushel while his son is saying it won't get that low this year. The boss was in to the parlor giving us an update on the bet. 97 million acres of corn have been planted in the U.S. this year - more than any year since the '30's. The boss was smiling.
