Indy and I were on our walk today. Nothing green is poking up from the ground yet but have enjoyed seeing the birds that flocked back on the warm winds. When Indy and I turned a corner on the path through the swamp we were both surprised to see a trio of unfamiliar birds coming towards us. Indy went rock still. I started snapping pictures. They seemed oblivious and just kept meandering toward us. Indy finally made her move and rushed them. Fortunately they can fly and, once safely up a tree, started scolding Indy for scaring them like that. These are guinea fowl, escapees from a farm. That or the DNR is running amok and stocking them for hunters.
