I plunked myself down in the hairdresser's chair and with a wave of my hand told her to cut it all off. She was taken aback. "Not a good day for you?" she asked. Well, it hadn't been a great day. While the worst of the storm had held off until I was at work, I'd slowly driven home in the still falling snow on snow covered roads. Had worked on town business then until I'd come to this appointment. All in all, not really a bad day. Guess I just felt down. "How about a pixie cut instead?" she said. That seemed like a good compromise so I spent an hour just sitting and gossiping w/ the hairdresser while she colored my hair and then whacked off quite a bit of it. I felt a bit better - nothing like a little pampering and a new "do" to put a different spin on the day.
