Picking up Hay Bales

Steam cleaned under the mats at the dairy today. We pick up the heavy rubber mats that the cows stand on while being milked and then the mat that we stand on which is much lighter. Both types of mats are bulky and don't seem to go back into the same position so I make sure that we have someone else there to help Mike. It's surprising how much dirt and grime can get underneath those things and sort of fester. I schedule cleaning underneath the mats at least once a year. Part of my cleaning goal to eliminate, as Carol the diary owner put it, "that funky smell in the parlor".
