Thought it would be apropos to put a picture of a dad on the blog today. When I walk the edge of Gorgeous Gorge I get dive-bombed by a tree swallow. He's got fledglings in a nearby bird house right now and is being protective. He flies high and then swoops in on me flapping his wings just above my head. A tactic that probably works better on another bird than a big hulking mammal but I give him credit for guts. Sorry that the picture isn't clearer. He's coming in fast (and, yes, I might be ducking just a little.)

I had a similar experience while walking this morning. The bird just would not give up and kept screeching and diving at my head. I kept telling him to quit it !!
