Main discussion at the monthly town board meeting tonight was plans for the new town hall. The old town hall was once a one-room school house. It has mold in the ceiling and the structure it is sitting on is crumbling. There is no running water. One of the planning committee members put out a set of plans and we enjoyed picking it apart. All we need is a large meeting room, a bathroom, an office, a utility room, a fire-proof room for documents and a kitchenette. There was also discussion on what building materials to use and the exact site for the new structure. Even though the chairman said we might be in a new place by the end of the year, I'm really, really hoping that w/ all of the differing opinions of people in the township, we don't start work until next year. It's a full year of elections - in May, June, August, and the biggie in November. I do not want to add any extra confusion to the voting process by sending people to a temporary voting location if I can help it.
