The Forest in Spring

Phil and Brent are here and they have been busy w/ various outside projects. The lilacs that were cut down by the road crew are coming back. The guys dug some up and replanted them as a hedge by the house. They cultivated the garden and have been taking out old barbed wire fences. Tonight we checked out the blue bird houses and put up a 14th house. Two houses have nests w/ eggs already and quite a few have "down payments" of dried grass in them. While my brothers been working hard they haven't yet tackled the real reason they came up - installation of the wood duck house. They are taking some time to think that one out - where to put it, what to put it on, what to use as a predator deterrent, etc. To tell you the truth, the planning is a major part of the fun.
